Charles' grandfather was an architect, boat designer, sculptor and painter so, at a very young age, he was privileged to be surrounded by a world of art and design. His art school experience was a blur, and before he knew it, he was thrust into the bowels of one of the top ad agencies in Capetown. Known as the “wrist” in the studio. “Necessity being the mother of invention, he developed a very fluid, "squiggly" pen and ink style of drawing to get the concept across simply and effectively. Over the years his style has evolved into a digital format. He has created concepts for some of the largest brands in the world to some very successful, multi-million dollar startups.
His work has been exhibited in the Toronto AGO sales gallery.
Charles's passion for nature has inspired him to write and illustrate, “The Family Forest Field Guide", for a return to the woods. He has also just finished a children’s book entitled, “Trees Have Mommies Too”, with the intention of creating an early childhood connection with nature.
